Sitting down at the end of my day in my favorite chair and smoking a bowl of Virginia's best tobacco blend with my feet up is pretty close to being the highlight of my day. I still enjoy spending time with my wife and kids and all the other activities that come with being a father of four and a business owner. But when I sit down and recline back in my recliner and light up that is usually the first and only chance I get to relax and do something just for my own sake.
Maybe you can relate.
Judging from a recent blog post I caught by Neill Archer Roan I dare say Neill can relate to that sentiment. I posted an excerpt below from his post so you can check it out too. But in the post Neill shares a bit of about why he loves his pipe smoking time as much as I do myself. So I thought you'd like to check it out too.
Here it is:
I’ve been here in Northwest Arkansas since Sunday and haven’t had a single pipe yet. I really thought that I’d have found a bit of time by now for a bowl or two.
Still, this visit has been wonderful. The work we are doing here is stimulating and brimming with hope and optimism. Honestly, I haven’t worked all that many engagements of late that open my heart so much as this experience. I’m busy, but I’m blessed so I’m not complaining.
As much as I love my wife, when I travel with her, it’s very hard for me to find some alone time to sit, smoke, and reflect. When she is around, I feel subtle pressure to put her needs above mine and be with her. Whether she exerts pressure or not is another matter; I mean no accusation. I can only say that I feel some expectation. Read the rest of Neill's post by clicking here.
So can you relate with Neill on this or what? I know I certainly could as soon as I read his post. If you can't maybe it's because you haven't sat down, put your feet up and actually tried smoking a bowl of flavorful tobacco through a nice pipe. Try it, you might like it!
